Turquoise Sterling Silver Native American Link Concho Belt.

This concho belt is full of natural character. You'll definitely make a strong statement with this one on. This outstanding concho belt features a generous portion of genuine Sleeping Beauty Turquoise nuggets. These eighteen conchos were made from hand cut, hand stamped Sterling Silver and they are just covered in this top quality Turquoise. Turquoise and Silver, the perfect combination. Made in our shop. The conchos are each 1-3/8" by 2". The total length of this adjustable belt is 43-1/4" including the 2" long extension chain. Stamped Sterling. Signed with our hallmark. Turquoise stones may slightly vary. The photo is an excellent representation of the one of a kind hand made Turquoise Concho Belt you'll receive.

Turquoise has been, since about 200 B.C., extensively used by southwestern U.S Native Americans and by many of the Indian tribes in Mexico. The Native American Jewelry or "Indian style" jewelry with turquoise mounted in or with silver is relatively new. Some believe this style of Jewelry was unknown prior to about 1880, when a white trader persuaded a Navajo craftsman to make turquoise and silver jewelry using coin silver. Prior to this time, the Native Americans had made solid turquoise beads, carvings, and inlaid mosaics. Recently, turquoise has found wide acceptance among people of all walks of life and from many different ethnic groups.
