1500K Native American Number 8 Nevada Turquoise Silver Concho Belt

1500K Native American Number 8 Nevada Turquoise Silver Concho Belt.

IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A STATEMENT, THIS IS THE BELT FOR YOU!!!

This concho belt is just full of natural character. The Native American jewelry artist selected large, top of the line nuggets of genuine Number 8 Nevada Turquoise to create the buckle and each of the fourteen conchos. Just like snowflakes, no two nuggets of this Turquoise are exactly alike. This Turquoise is of a high quality, it still has its natural colors and matrix. The Number 8 mine in Nevada was cleared out years ago making this Turquoise a rare find. Each Turquoise nugget has been perfectly set in an individually hand made Sterling Silver casing for an impressive shine. The conchos and buckle have ring links to create a totally adjustable and flexible belt. Made in our shop. The total length is 44-3/4", including the 3-3/4" long extension chain. This thing darn near weighs a pound and a half, this is no flimsy concho belt. We estimate that it has over 1500kt of Turquoise. Signed by the Navajo Indian jewelry artist. Stamped Hand made..

Turquoise has been, since about 200 B.C., extensively used by southwestern U.S Native Americans and by many of the Indian tribes in Mexico. The Native American Jewelry or "Indian style" jewelry with turquoise mounted in or with silver is relatively new. Some believe this style of Jewelry was unknown prior to about 1880, when a white trader persuaded a Navajo craftsman to make turquoise and silver jewelry using coin silver. Prior to this time, the Native Americans had made solid turquoise beads, carvings, and inlaid mosaics. Recently, turquoise has found wide acceptance among people of all walks of life and from many different ethnic groups.

We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we recognize itâs important to know that the artist is truly a member of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity has been included with this item. CERTIFIED AUTHENTIC

Turquoise Jewelry American Indian Silver Link CONCHO BELT

Turquoise Jewelry American Indian Silver Link Concho Belt.

This Navajo Indian Jewelry Silver Link Concho Belt is the perfect way to dress up your Rocky Mountain blue jeans. This concho belt was finely hand crafted out of die struck conchos of nickel Silver for a high shine that won't easily tarnish. These nickel Silver conchos each have a traditional southwestern design that's highly fashionable. This concho belt will match up perfectly with any other Silver jewelry that's already in your collection. Each concho holds a hand cut cabochon of genuine Turquoise. Made in our shop. This Navajo Indian Silver Concho Belt has thirteen individual conchos. Each concho is 1-5/8" wide and 2-1/2" long. The total length of this completely adjustable concho belt is 41-1/4".

Concha belts are one of the most striking articles of Indian Jewelry. The medallions or plates of silver vary in number according to size. The older type had holes in the center, separated by a bar, through which was passed the strap forming the belt. The first belts were made only of concha's, with leather thongs used for fastening. Later a silver harness buckle was used, then slides of soft copper were used to attach and slide the concha's on belts and finally elaborate buckles replaced the leather thongs and simple buckles. The use of turquoise and other adornment on concha's date from the 1920's.

We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we recognize itâs important to know that the artist is truly a member of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity has been included with this item.

Turquoise Silver Cowboy Western Concho

Turquoise Silver Cowboy Western Concho.

This old western cowboy Concho has a traditional Silver tone engraved design. The Silver tone metal perfectly compliments the hand cut block Turquoise cabochon. This concho is 1" in diameter. It comes with a Chicago screw that goes with the riveted back for easy attachment. This concho will match up perfectly with any other Silver and Turquoise accessories that are already in your collection. You can order more than one, as many as you like, while supplies last.

Put 'em on your bridal, put 'em on your saddle, put 'em on your hat, your breast collar, spur straps, chaps, anything! To tell you the truth, I've seen 'em everywhere. Let your imagination be your guide.

The cowboy was born in 1866 with the first herd of Texas longhorns trailed across hundreds of miles of wild and dangerous country, filled with predators and hostile Indians, to the wide open town of Abilene.... created by the Kansas Pacific Railroad as the western frontier railhead for shipping cattle East. From that time on the big Texas cattle drives fed the market for a beef-hungry America. Six hundred thousand cattle came up the Texas trail in 1871 in herds of about 2,000 each led by a wild and reckless and tough bunch of young men with great courage and fortitude. Huge numbers of longhorn cattle had multiplied in Texas after the Civil War, the result of few predators, few fences and plenty of grass and water. They ran wild while Texas men went off to fight for the Confederacy. Cow-gathering was a challenge but getting a herd all the way to the Kansas railroad paid big. Early cowboys had very little grub (mostly corn meal and salted bacon,) used homemade saddles and chaps, no tents or tarps, braided their own rope from horsehair, and bragged they could go any place a cow could, and stand anything a horse could. Lay on your saddle blanket and cover with a coat was the Texas trail bed. The twelve-inch-barrel Colt was necessary equipment. Strong, lightweight and wiry men who were persevering and loyal defined a new American spirit of freedom and independence. Mothers shared great pride in seeing their sons grow up to be cowboys.
